Using this owner's manual

This bicycle manual and this Welcome section provide information about the use and the ownership of your new bicycle. This page explains how to use the manual, including viewing it on your computer monitor, finding the information you seek, and printing.

Viewing the manual on your web browser

The pages of this manual appear in your computer's web browser, the software your computer uses to view internet web pages: Internet Explorer, Safari, Netscape, Opera, etc.

Frames

The browser window is split into two "frames," or columns (Figure 1).  The left-hand frame is the navigation column, a way to get around in the manual and to know where you are in the manual.  The right-hand frame is the content column where reading material is displayed- you are reading the content column now.

Sections and Chapters

There are two sections to this information: the Welcome section (this is the Welcome section) and the Owner's Manual section. To read the Owner's Manual, you must choose a bicycle type.

The owner's manual is divided into three major chapters. The chapters are shown as "Books" (Figure 2). When you click on a closed book, the book opens and information pages appear below the book. Information pages are denoted by the "arrow" icon. If you click an arrow, the page opens in the right-hand frame, or content column, for you to read.

Links

In many of the information pages, you will see blue underlined text. These are Links, and they work just like when you are viewing pages on the Internet; click a Link and you will go to a new information page.

Most of the links take you to information pages within the manual, but some links go to web pages on the internet. To access web pages, your computer must be connected to the internet. These internet links replace the manual page in the content column with an actual internet web page, but leave the manual's left-hand navigation column. To return to the manual, click on your web browser's Back button, or click a Topic in the left-hand frame.
